Davit Gareja is one of the most important religious and cultural centers of feudal Georgia, a rock hewn monastery complex. It is located on the territory of Sagarejo municipality, on slopes of Mount Gareja, close to the border with Azerbaijan. A small part of the complex (Bertubani, Chichkhituri) is located on the Azerbaijani side.<\/p>\n

Bodbe monastery is located in Kakheti region, near the town of Signaghi, which overlooks the beautiful Alazani valley and the high snowcapped Caucasus mountains. The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe is a Georgian Ortodox monastic complex built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century.<\/p>\n

Sighnaghi is one of the most beautiful towns in Georgia, owing that title both to its geographic location and architectural style developed over the course of centuries. The town is situated on a mountain, having an amazing view of Alazani Valley and Greater Caucasus.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9 le monast\u00e8re, connu plus tard sous le nom de Laure de David.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=\u00a0\u00bbMonast\u00e8re de Bodbe\u00a0\u00bb style=\u00a0\u00bbrounded_outline\u00a0\u00bb]In 16-17th centuries Bodbe was important educational centre. Currently the monastery functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its associations with St. Nino, the 4th century female evangelist of Georgians, those relics are shrined there. according to the legend, St. Nino died in Bodbe in 335. St. Nino crossed the entire country healing and preaching people the true God. St Nino bequeathed to bury her in this land. Later when King Mirian wanted to move her body to Mtskheta, all efforts to shift the ark with Nino\u2019s relics from its place were in vain. Originally, a lttle temple in honor of great martyr St. George was built on the burial pace. But this temple did not survive. In 850 instead of the old temple the new Cathedral, the main Building of the complex, was erected. It is a classic temple in the best traditions of Georgian architecture. The interior is decorated by the 9th century paintings and fragments of the 12-17 century pictures.<\/p>\n
